Networking. Some love it, while some think it is pure agony and headaches. But, the importance and benefits of a well-structured network are undeniable. It can make the difference between getting the job or not, receiving the promotion, and opening doors to new opportunities. Besides, networking also helps you develop and improve your skill-set!
Networking is about establishing and nurturing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with the people you meet. Whether you’re waiting to order your morning coffee, participating in an intramural sports league, or are in contact with a company for a school project, these are all moments to network (see TopResume‘s article on the importance of networking).
Remember: if you do not nurture your network, people might eventually forget to think about you the moment they need to!
